At the risk of repeating myself, I would really like to see motherhood receive more support. Something like socialized daycare would improve the lives of women and lift so many out of poverty. Though in some cases in Canada if you are poor enough it is possible to get subsidized care still many families and single mothers are burdened by expenses, furthermore these centers do not reflect the real world lives of working women. Having a center that closes on weekends and charges extra after five does not reflect the changing face of the workplace. 9-5 or 8-4 is what many dream of but in reality in a global economy many are working shifts that are not conducive to raising families.
