Back when I used to blog more regularly, I used to LOVE posting music breaks! Music is awesome, isn't it? And I liked breaking up my posts with some fun and dancing. Let's do the same for the blogathon, shall we?

I've had a few posts where I put up a couple of old videos by a female artist that was important to me years ago. I labeled two of these Blast from the Past -- Shakira and Fiona Apple, if you're curious -- so I thought, why not bring it back?!

Today, I'm going to switch it up a bit and instead of doing a few videos by the same artist, I'm doing different artists. Let's begin!

First up, we've got Tracy Bonham with Mother, Mother. This is actually cheating a bit, because I only ever heard of this song when it was nominated for a VMA, but I didn't like it so much then. I put it out of my mind until college when I heard it again and became obsessed.

Next, we've got Meredith Brooks with Bitch. Everyone knows this song and seems to have very strong feelings for it -- they either love it or hate it. I love it. When it came out, I was hung up on this boy I had known for years who never gave me the time of day. He always seemed to date the pretty, sometimes ditzy girls and I changed the lyrics to this song to hate on him and the girls he went out with. I was young, I'm sorry...

You can't really dance to this song, but I love it anyway: Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. Holy crap, it gets me every time. This song needs no intro, just listen to it. (Shout out to fellow blogathon blogger, Cara, who also loves this song!)

No list is complete without Alanis because I'm just obsessed like that. This is one of my favorite versions of You Oughta Know, the one she performed at the Grammys. I don't actually like You Oughta Know as much as I like her other songs, but I really like this version.
