Chally from Zero at the Bone has zapped me with her interview meme ray. I'm pretty much an open book, so any other questions folks have for me, just let me know in the comments. Here are my answers to her questions:

1. What are your five favourite books?
I'm going to cheat and count the Harry Potter series as one huge book, otherwise it would take up all five slots. So HP, In the Time of the Butterflies and In the Name of Salome both by Julia Alvarez, The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, and Wicked by Gregory Maguire.

Oh, and if you must know, my ranked HP books would be: Deathly Hallows, Half-Blood Prince, Chamber of Secrets, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Pheonix, Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, and Prisoner of Azkaban. I don't actually like PoA very much and have only read it twice. It bores me. I also LOVE CoS more than anybody I know. It was my absolute favorite until HBP came out and still holds a special place in my heart.

2. Share something nice about living in New York with us.
I like walking around Manhattan (when there aren't too many tourists around) and I can just experience the smells and sounds. And I like that in Manhattan I can get pretty much everywhere I want without a car.

BUT! Queens is by far my favorite borough. I love the cultures, languages, food, etc. represented there. It's where I grew up and Flushing Meadows, the Mets, and those yummy Colombian bakeries will always feel like home to me.

I don't, however, like that in a city so big, you always end up encountering people you just don't want to see. I also don't like that it's so dirty, that nobody recycles, and that it's so expensive. I don't think I've had a hot dog since last year when all of the corner hot dog vendors raised their prices. I refuse to pay more than $1 for a hot dog or a pretzel.

3. What's your favourite Beatles song and why?
This changes constantly, depending on my mood. I'd have to say A Day in the Life is usually at the top of the list, if I had to choose just one. But tomorrow it might be Eleanor Rigby or Golden Slumbers or Helter Skelter...

My guy and I are trying to work on a ranked list of what we consider to be the best Beatles songs, but we haven't gotten very far. I finally found somebody who's as obsessed as I am, so I turn to her for my Beatles fix. She feeds my addiction and I thank her for her service.

4. What's your superpower? (Actual or imaginary, I don't mind which.)
OMG! If I could choose a superpower it would either be lightning-fast reading (think of all the books I could read!) or to be able to take people's pain away. Neither is terribly exciting, but I'd be thrilled to have those powers.

I don't know if I have a real superpower other than the ability to annoy people HAHA! I suppose I'd be the Social Justice Superhero... I'd need a cool name though. Any ideas?

5. What's your favourite item of clothing?
Currently, the awesome shirt I bought from KM Stitchery with Gloria Steinem and Dorothy P. Hughes on it. I could wear that shirt every day, and probably would if my desire to make it last the rest of my life wasn't so great. Wanna see it? It's the first pic posted here.

Aside from that, I just love wearing PJs. I'll let everybody in on a secret: I HATE wearing pants! You'd think that I'd wear more skirts, but they always fit me funny. I really just love wearing sweats or other comfy pants. I would wear sweats all day every day. Or... not wear any bottoms at all.

Truth is, I spend a lot of time naked in my apartment when I'm alone. To the point where people always have to make sure they call before coming over because chances are either my guy or I (or both) have no clothes on. There, I said it. That's enough sharing for today.

Oh, PoA was my favourite! And Five People's pretty good. And I like your superpowers.
