Today is Lin-Manuel Miranda's last performance for In the Heights. I am actually a bit annoyed, because I could've gotten tickets to see it on this day with a group of my friends, but they couldn't get it together. Whatever...
I am so completely in love with this musical, it's not even funny.
In honor of Lin-Manuel and what he's done for the Latino community and Washington Heights just because he "wrote a little show about home," here's 7 Years In the Heights (I guess now it's 8 - damn!):
And, because I have no idea how he'll be able to sing this without getting choked up, here's the show's Finale number (don't listen too closely if you don't want spoilers):
If I should ever be so lucky as to have him read this: Congratulations! Your hard work paid off. Estamos muy orgullosos de ti. ¡No pare, sigue sigue!
Labels: in the heights, Latinos=the bomb, musica, musicals
