For those of you who don't know (because I just learned yesterday), today is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers.
I've written before about my ambivalence on sex work in general, but have also made my plea for coming together on the things most people have in common, particularly protecting women from having their rights violated simply because they are sex workers.
This is one of those times when I hope we can come together and bring forth a clear message that sex workers are still people. There is no excuse for using violence against somebody, even if she (or he) is a sex worker.
I'm sure there will be a number of interesting posts today, and I'll be updating this with links as I read them. Please also feel free to share links to your own posts or other good posts you read in the comments.
ETA: Check out a post and a video over at Renegade Evolution from the sex workers march in DC. She also links to Bound, Not Gagged which has several videos up.
