I realized halfway through my vacation that I never warned my wonderful readers that I was going to be MIA for a week! Oops.

In celebration of my sister's 21st birthday, we trekked it all the way to Vegas for a weekend of fun. I gambled (and didn't win any money), partied (and didn't sleep), ate (and didn't work out), and didn't blog. I caved in and bought internet the second night there, but the internet time was spent mostly to figure out what in the heck we were going to do for the rest of our trip.

Sorry about that, folks!

But I'm back now and trying desperately to catch up on my emails, work tasks, and blogs. My Google Reader peaked at over 1,000 unread posts, but I'm down to 868 so far, so hopefully I can get through these suckers.

More from me soon, but until then, enjoy this:

On how we talk about ethnicity in terms of color and the problems that causes, I have never read a better post than this one at Anti-Racist Parent. The author, Liza Talusan, is very against being called 'yellow,' though, and makes quite a case against it as a racial descriptor.
