In junior high, I discovered The Feminist Singer/Songwriter around the time of Lilith Fair. LOVE IT! I listened to Lisa Loeb, Alanis, Fiona Apple, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan, Paula Cole, Indigo Girls, and even Janis Joplin, Carole King, Carly Simon, and all sorts of others in heavy rotation.
Here is one of my all-time favorite Fiona songs and its not-as-good music video. I like to call this one: "the epitome of the bad 90s video." It's got the weird flotation effect, random people of color, an urban house party, weird/ flowy/ I'm-too-good-for-choreography dancing, chunky heels, random people making out, and, of course, a wind machine. Enjoy =)
